FEBRUARY FLIP FLOP
This month we're flipping it up!! It's a little too cold to wear flip flops so we're asking our teachers to 'flip flop'. Thursday 2/17, each teacher will trade places with another teacher in a different grade level and present an activity or lesson to their "new" class. This will require a lot of creativity and bravery as our intermediate grade teachers venture into the world of primary grades!! The students will be pleasantly surprised and should have a ball. We know the students are ready......teachers are YOU ready?
The horseshoe hooray store will be open as well.
Parents remember to reinforce the 3 B's at home and in the community, here's a few examples generated by 3rd graders:
- Encouraging your child to pitch in and help
- Listen to your parents, don't talk back
- Assign household chores and duties to instill a sense of responsibity
- Emphasize the importance of being considerate of others
- Use "fair fighting' rules: Use "I" messages, walk away to calm down, be willing to compromise
- Volunteer at the animal shelter
- Don't liter
- Help your neighbors
- Donate unwanted toys and clothes
- Don't waste paper
